Carbon Engineering (CE) is a Canadian clean technology provider that is a global leader in the development of one of the core carbon removal technologies required to reach net zero: Direct Air Capture (DAC).

Carbon Engineering’s DAC technology is currently being scaled up at STRATOS, which is set to become the world’s largest DAC project. The project is designed to capture up to 500,000 tonnes of CO2 per year from the atmosphere when fully operational. STRATOS is currently under construction in Texas (USA) and is expected to become commercially operational in mid-2025.

By becoming a member of ZEP, Carbon Engineering demonstrates a commitment to aligning DAC and CCS/CCU technologies with EU climate objectives, and reinforcing the EU’s leadership in climate action.

ZEP welcomes Carbon Engineering and look forward to its contributions to our role as the EU’s trusted advisor on industrial carbon management.
