Charting the course for CO2 transport by ship
With more carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects taking shape, CO₂ transport by ship will be essential to guarantee full-scale CO₂ transport across Europe. Ships are crucial to transport smaller volumes of CO₂, for long-distance transportation, and to transport CO₂ from isolated sites as well as for smaller and early-stage projects. The Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) and the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) have conducted a study to outline the scope of a European market for CO₂ shipping by 2030, focusing on interoperability, barriers, and commercialization enablers.

The process for the election of the new ZEP chairperson was approved by the AC and the call for applicants is now open. Applications are welcome until 2 January and the election will take place on 18 January 2023.
