Technology and Policy AnalystSalman brings a technical and engineering perspective to ZEP’s policy and research work on industrial carbon management. His role focuses on analysing CCS, CDR and CCU technologies, reviewing technological and policy developments from a techno-economic perspective, developing analytical insights and reports, and tracking carbon management projects across the value chain.
During his PhD in Chemical Engineering, Salman developed decision-support methods for industrial decarbonisation. His research focused on techno-economic modelling, energy systems analysis, and carbon capture technologies, evaluating decarbonisation pathways for energy-intensive industries such as cement, glass, and lime using advanced modelling and optimisation tools.
Originally from Pakistan, with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from China and now based in Belgium, Salman brings an international perspective to industrial carbon management. He is motivated to build expertise in climate change and the energy transition in developed economies while helping bridge knowledge and experience gaps with developing countries.
