The Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP), together with Bellona, the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) and other signatories, has signed an open letter on Article 18 of the Net Zero Industry Act. The signatories to this letter strongly believe that Article 18 is essential to unlock CO2 injection capacity, thereby contributing to the deployment and scale up of CCS in Europe.
Recognising that there could be circumstances outside of oil and gas license holders’ control that could prevent them from fulfilling their contribution, the signatories propose a pragmatic addition to Article 18 that addresses such challenges while preserving the essence of the Article.
