The European Industrial Carbon Management Summit is happening on the 5th of December 2024 in Brussels. ZEP flagship event brings together industrial leaders, policy, civil society and research to shape the future of industrial carbon management in Europe.
The European Industrial Carbon Management (ICM) sector reached a major milestone in 2024 with the adoption of the Net Zero Industry Act, the publication of the European Industrial Carbon Management strategy, and the announcement of national CCS/CCU strategies from major European economies. The EU’s and European states’ recognition of the role of ICM technologies in achieving net zero and maintaining industrial competitiveness sends a strong message to the community.
Europe is moving forward to accelerate the deployment of industrial carbon management, but much remains to be done. This includes deploying large-scale CO2 infrastructure, securing final investment decisions, fostering innovation, and ensuring regulatory frameworks that support rapid deployment and integration of ICM technologies across hard-to-abate industries. Collaborative efforts between governments, the private sector, research institutions, and civil society will be crucial in overcoming these challenges and making progress.
The Summit will bring the community together to exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss the next chapter in industrial carbon management.
