As the EU debates its decarbonisation targets for 2030 we must stimulate growth and put in place measures that can address both competitiveness and sustainability. The question however is – how can we ensure that European heavy industry can compete, when subject to low carbon targets, while safeguarding jobs?

The Zero Emission Platform, which sponsors the event, will present reports to stimulate debate. Carbon Capture and Storage is the only decarbonisation option available for many industrial sectors and is critical to ensuring a cost effective decarbonisation of our power sector by 2050. This hearing is about understanding, sharing and exchanging ideas on how we can enable CCS in industry and power.
